The "Pujiang Innovation Forum - 2018 International Symposium on Science and Technology Innovation Think Tanks" hosted by the Shanghai Institute for Science of Science was opened today. Experts from the Development Research Center of the State Council, China Science and Technology Development Strategy Research Institute, Tongji University, UNESCO, and Silicon Valley, experts from Chinese and foreign think tanks gathered in the institute to express their views on the theme of “Science and Technology Innovation Center: Urban Agglomeration and Future Opportunities”. Wu Zhiqiang, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and vice president of Tongji University, pointed out that the GDP and patents per capita in the Yangtze River Delta lag behind some developed urban agglomerations at home and abroad, which means that the Yangtze River Delta should promote the innovation quality of the economy as the main development goals.
