On the morning of September 8, 2024, the "2024 Pujiang Innovation Forum - Unicorn Innovation and Development Forum" was held in Songjiang, Shanghai. The forum was guided by the Science and Technology Commission of Shanghai Municipality and the Federation of Industry and Commerce, co-hosted by the Government of Songjiang District, Great Wall Enterprise Institute(GEI), and the Shanghai Institute for Science of Science, co-organized by the China Construction Bank Corporation Shanghai Branch. Leaders and distinguished guests such as Shou Ziqi, Chairman of the Municipal Federation of Industry and Commerce, Bo Jie, Deputy Director of the High-tech Industry Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Xie Wenlan, Deputy Director-level official of the Municipal Science and Technology Commission, Sun Zhenrong, President of the Shanghai Academy of Science and Technology, Wang Huajie, Secretary of the Songjiang District Committee, and Wang Jing, Chief of the Songjiang District, attended the forum. The forum was presided over by Wang Fenyu, Deputy General Manager of GEI. With the theme of "Focus on Unicorns Growth for New Chapter of New Quality Productive Forces", over 200 participants including representatives of unicorn enterprises, investment institutions, new economy experts, and government agency representatives attended the forum.

　　At the opening ceremony, Chairman Shou Ziqi, Deputy Director Bo Jie, and Secretary Wang Huajie delivered speeches for the forum, and District Chief Wang Jing made a promotional presentation on the district's situation. Chairman Wu Wensheng of GEI, together with Deputy Director-level official Xie Wenlan, President Sun Zhenrong, and other leaders and distinguished guests, launched the release ceremony of the "China Unicorn Enterprise Development Tracking Report." The report indicates that from 2016 to 2023, the number of unicorn enterprises in China increased from 131 to 375, with a total valuation increase of more than double; over the eight years, unicorn enterprises have appeared in 22 provinces; the number of tracks where unicorn enterprises are located increased from 22 to 39, and the proportion of frontier technology unicorn enterprises continued to increase (exceeding 60% since 2021); a total of 139 unicorn enterprises have gone public, with over 40% concentrated in the Hong Kong Exchange and Clearing Limited, providing an insight into the development and momentum of unicorn enterprises from a vertical timeline.

　　In the keynote speech session, guests such as Jonathan Ortmans, Chairman of the Global Entrepreneurship Network, and He Yu, Chairman of CIQTEK, gave wonderful speeches on themes such as "Unicorns, Connectivity, and Global Leadership" "Quantum Precision Measurement Technology and Industry Empowerment" "Innovative Medical Devices: China's Journey to the World" "Controlled Nuclear Fusion and Its Commercial Practice" and "Patience is the Key to Capital", discussing the development experience and cultivation path of unicorns, summarizing their role and value in forming new quality productive forces, and providing insight into the future development direction of unicorn enterprises.

　　In the dialogue session, Ma Yuwen, Senior Partner of GEI, and guests conducted in-depth discussions on the theme of "Frontier Technology Unicorn Enterprises Driving the Development of New Quality Productive Forces"; Zhang Zhihong, Professor at Dalian University of Technology and Dean of the Institute of Specialized and New Enterprise(SNE), and guests had a lively exchange on the topic of "Creating a Better Development Environment to Support Youth Entrepreneurship".
